Family Fun – part 1

Had a fun impromptu family photo shoot while I was on holiday in the Okanagan this summer. Not only did I get to shoot the immediate family, of three, but a few extra family members got to join the party. We had cousins, step-grandmothers and brothers, it was fabulous fun!
The kids had their own ideas for photos; they had some great input and it was a blast to photograph them.
More Family Fun to come…

Family Fun – Part 2

Fun in the Okanagan continues. More pics of the extensive family I was privileged to photograph this summer. Step grandmothers get to show their affection for their granddaughter. Dad gets a cuddle from his girls and the kids had their own ideas.
Scott and his girls have cuddle time.
Chris and his step-mom, Cathy.
Only cousins can have this much fun together!
The gang!

15 minutes – Mabel & Lucca

Mabel and Lucca became victims of my photography obsession for approximately 15 minutes late one afternoon.
A group of us were preparing dinner and had approximately 15 minutes to wait so I grabbed my camera and we all made a quick dash out to the empty field beside the house. I had some ideas that I wanted to work on and I had willing subjects. Well Mabel was willing, Lucca was ‘voluntold’ by his mom. Even the other dinner-buddy  joined in and became the ‘photographers assistant’
I think this is what we would call a quick-and-dirty session. A couple minutes to set up…run back to the house for a memory card, Duh!, position the subjects and start shooting. It was a really fun, quick shoot.
Poor Lucca did everything I asked of him. But he was obviously not comfortable in front of the camera and was a bit stiff.  Mom decided to lighten-up the shoot and Lucca the only way a mother could…by being a goof. It worked and we all left the field smiling and laughing. And a great dinner was waiting for us when we got in.

The Arnolds

I have had the privilege of knowing this wonderful, giving couple for many years. They both have just retired and are embarking on a new chapter of their life. This new chapter includes moving from their current residence. They wanted a little memento of the many great years   they had spent in this house. So, I photographed them on their property.
We spent a few minutes shooting around the outside of their home on a beautiful sunny day. It was lovely, and even the dogs seemed to enjoy themselves. They appreciated the sentiment and were thrilled with the end results.
